Long Cyuan Veterans Hospital(LCVH), located in the southeast of Pingtung County and near Longtan Village. Neipu Shiang, has a land area of 11 hectares, and where the hospital sited is a sandy riverbed, with Taiwu Mountain in the east and beautiful sight. It was designed to construct Long Chuan Veterans Tuberculosis Hospital, which was renamed to Veterans Hospital of Long Chuan in Taiwan on 1 September of the same year. And on the 1 November 1966, it was defined as “the Veterans General Hospital-Long Chuan of Veterans Affairs Commission, Executive Yuan”. It has grown into a sweeping hospital through development for more than 40 years. After starting “National Medical Expansion Plan” in April 1986, many other buildings were continuously finished. VHLC now has an outpatient building, Chronic Medical building A and B, a Rehabilitation Center, the Yangsin Center, Psychology Ward, for chronic diseases, and employment dormitory. During 1990, 1993, 1996, 1999 and 2002, VHLC was honored as a “Local Hospital” by the Medical Department. Also, the hospital now establishes 700 beds for patients with a variety of disease, including the Departments of Internal Medicine, Surgery, Anatomy, Reinstate, Urology, Gynecology, Family Medicine, Psychiatry, Ophthalmology and Dentistry. Also, VHLC is known as the biggest hospital in Pintung to serve veterans and public in the community and to function as National Health Insurance.
